Woodstock 50 Festival Is Back on With New Financial Backer
The Woodstock 50 Festival has found a new financial partner that will allow the show to go on. Rolling Stone reports the New York-based investment bank Oppenheimer & Co. has agreed to provide financing for the organizers. The festival was previously declared “canceled” by Woodstock 50’s former financial partner Dentsu Aegis, but a judge ruled earlier this week that Dentsu could not legally cancel the festival. “We look forward to putting on an incredible festival,” said original Woodstock co-founder and Woodstock 50 producer Michael Lang. Now organizers must scramble to secure important permits and complete planning prior to the August 16-18 festival. JAY-Z, Imagine Dragons, Miley Cyrus, Dead & Company, Chance the Rapper, and The Killers are all scheduled to perform.
