Meghan Markle is about to welcome her and Prince Harry’s first child, and while the Palace has been mum on the details, the Daily Mail is reporting that the Duchess is seriously considering having a midwife-led home birth at their new place, Frogmore Cottage.
But, seeing as mothers over 35 (Meghan is 37) have an increased risk of premature birth or issues that might require a caesarean, the couple has reportedly not "ruled out a hospital delivery."
"It is her favored choice to do it at home, but it obviously depends on how things are nearer the time," a source told the Mail of her and Harry's final decision.
Meghan is reportedly not keen on using the private Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital in London, where Kate Middleton delivered all three of her children, and Princess Diana delivered her two.
Meanwhile, Oprah Winfrey went to bat for Meghan, saying she is unfairly vilified in the press. "I think she’s being portrayed unfairly," Winfrey said on CBS This Morning. "And I feel that, if people really knew her, they would know that she is not only everything that we perceive of her as being graceful and dynamic in holding that position. But she just has a wonderful, warm, giving, loving heart."
