The 2018 People’s Choice Awards are happening Sunday. Here’s what to know.
Nicki Minaj is opening the ceremony, with Rita Ora and John Legend among the performers set to follow her lead.
There are 43 categories, including 13 newbies, encompassing 6 TV, 10 movie, 9 music and 8 pop culture. Some of the new ones are "The Bingeworthy Show of 2018" and "The Revival Show of 2018."
This year will honor Melissa McCarthy, who will nab the People’s Icon Award; Victoria Beckham snags the Fashion Icon Award; and Bryan Stevenson lands People’s Champion Award for his activism (John Legend will present).
No awards show is complete without a full-on red carpet commentary. E!’s Live from the Red Carpet will kick things off with a whopping two hours of fashion analysis, followed by two hours of actual awards. Jason Kennedy and Giuliana Rancic are hosting the special with Nightly Pop co-host Nina Parker, The Real co-host Jeannie Mai and E! Style correspondent Zanna Roberts Rassi joining the red carpet commentary.
The red carpet kicks off at 7 p.m. ET/PT. The E! People's Choice Awards will follow from 9 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. ET/PT. The show will be aired across the cable networks of NBCUniversal, including Bravo, E!, SYFY, Universo and USA Network.
