Wendy Williams is taking a step back from her TV talk show on Fox, her family said in a statement Friday. She is suffering complications from Graves’ disease, and treatment will include "significant time" in the hospital.
Williams wants to return to work, but must take a step back to concentrate on her "personal and physical well-being," the family said, adding that they hope her privacy will be respected as she recovers.
In addition to dealing with Graves, the 54-year-old is healing after suffering a shoulder fracture in December.
Repeats of The Wendy Williams Show will air during the week of January 21st, with original episodes hosted by guest stars to follow.
