Wendy Williams, 54, has had a crazy year, what with spending time in a sober house to address issues with alcohol and drugs, splitting from her husband and manager of 20 years Kevin Hunter, helping extract her son Kevin Hunter Jr. from an assault charge against his father and navigating multiple health issues, and it seems she is ready to put her health first.
The daytime talk show revealed last week that she’d been diagnosed with lymphedema, a disorder that causes swelling in the arms and legs. She mentioned purchasing a machine to help her deal with the symptoms, and now she is giving concerned fans a look at the treatments she’s getting.
"Just Wendy with lymphedema machine. 45min every day. #lymphedema #flexitouch #gethelp," Williams captioned a shot of herself with the machine on Instagram.
In addition to lymphedema, Williams’ Graves Disease, which she has been dealing with for 20 years started "creeping back" in 2018 when she passed out on-air mid-show. She later found out she’d been on the wrong dose, and she adjusted her medication and took time off the show this year to deal with complications.
