Twitter Founder Jack Dorsey Unfollows Facebook Founder Mark Zuckerberg on (Where Else?) Twitter
Twitter founder Jack Dorsey made a big show this week of unfollowing Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg on (where else?) Twitter. Mashable reports that on Tuesday, Dorsey first followed the Twitter account @BigTechAlert, which tracks what Silicon Valley CEOs and other tech bigwigs do on the platform. Moments later, Dorsey’s next move–which he knew @BigTechAlert would announce to its followers–was to unfollow Zuckerberg’s account. Zuckerberg hasn’t tweeted anything since 2012, so Dorsey’s move clearly wasn’t in response to anything the Facebook founder recently said on the platform. Meanwhile, when Mashable asked Twitter for comment, the company replied with nothing but a goat emoji. That could mean that Dorsey is the “Greatest Of All Time”–or it could be a reference to the time Dorsey claims Zuckerberg once served him a meal of cold goat he’d killed himself with a laser gun. (True story!) Either way, Facebook and Twitter have been at odds recently over whether or not to ban misleading political advertising ahead of the 2020 election. Zuckerberg has said Facebook won’t ban or fact-check false ads, while Twitter is banning all paid political advertising.
