Tim Conway’s daughter Kelly has been granted a temporary restraining order that prevents his wife Charlene from moving her sick, 84-year-old father into another facility. The Carol Burnett Show alum is suffering from dementia and Charlene wanted to move him to a facility that she felt didn’t have the capacity to care for him.
"My brothers and I are extremely happy that the plan to move our dad by his wife has been temporarily stopped by a court order today," Kelly revealed in a statement obtained by People.
"We are grateful to the judge for taking this matter seriously by considering all the evidence before making a decision. We appreciate the overwhelming support and love we have received from my dad’s friends and fans," Kelly added.
Charlene’s lawyer argues that she is fighting for Tim’s best interests, and simply wants to give him the opportunity to be treated by Jeffrey Cummings, a renowned neurologist. Lawyer Michael Harris said: "Her concern now is for Mr. Conway to receive proper physical therapy so that he can better improve neurologically."
The next hearing is set for September 7th.
