“The Masked Singer”: The Butterfly Is Unmasked After Losing Epic Smackdown
In the latest episode of The Masked Singer, four contestants squared off to remain in contention for the Golden Mask, People reports. Judges Robin Thicke, Nicole Scherzinger, Ken Jeong, and Jenny McCarthy were joined again by Joel McHale, and watched as Butterfly and Fox paired off: the Fox won over both the crowd and judges with his version of “Haven’t Met You Yet,” which McHale called the “best performance I’ve ever seen on this show.” Thingamajig and Tree then clashed, with the Tree’s performance of “Total Eclipse of the Heart” earning her the right to join the Fox in moving on to the next round. In an epic smackdown round, Thingamajig and Butterfly battled to see who would remain on the show, and who would go home. Thingamajig ended up squeaking by with his version of Usher’s “Caught Up,” which was just enough to beat a really good Butterfly performance of Imagine Dragons’ “Believer.” Host Nick Cannon helped Butterfly unmask, and she was revealed to be Destiny’s Child member Michelle Williams, which McCarthy, Scherzinger and Thicke had correctly guessed. There are now only two shows left in the season, which will resume again next Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET on FOX.
