“The Masked Singer” Says Goodbye to The Black Widow & The Penguin

After a two-week hiatus, The Masked Singer returned Wednesday with 11 masked celebs performing in what was essentially two weeks worth of show. In the first half, judges Robin Thicke, Nicole Scherzinger, Ken Jeong, and Jenny McCarthy watched performances from The Rottweiler, The Ladybug, The Tree, The Penguin, The Flower and The Fox. The Tree gave such a good performance of Aretha Franklin’s “Truth” that some of the judges believe she might be a professional singer. Once the audience weighed in, The Penguin was selected to be unmasked after her performance of Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass,” and turned out to be comedian Sherri Shepherd. After pulling off her mask, the excited comic said “Jenny knows me so well… we’ve walked around naked together.” In the show’s second half, The Black Widow, Thingamajig, The Butterfly, The Leopard and The Flamingo faced off. The Fox’s performance of “Hey Look Ma, I Made It” by Panic! At the Disco was the highlight of the segment. Finally, the audience voted The Black Widow off after her version of Cher’s “Believe.” Underneath the mask was TV star Raven-Symone, who laughed as she told the judges, “When you guys called me a professional singer, I peed my pants, so thank you very much.”
