Scooter Braun Breaks Silence on Taylor Swift Feud, Addresses Being the “Bad Guy”

Big Machine Records owner Scooter Braun has finally opened up about his feud with Taylor Swift, Us Weekly reports. “I just think we live in a time of toxic division, and of people thinking that social media is the appropriate place to air out on each other and not have conversations…I don’t like anybody doing it,” the 38-year-old Braun said at the 2019 Entertainment Industry Conference on Thursday. “If that means that I’ve got to be the bad guy longer, I’ll be the bad guy longer, but I’m not going to participate.” Braun said he’d like to enter into “private communication” with Swift to resolve their issues and to avoid “adding to the narrative.” Braun also seemed to blame Swift for calling on fans to take action against him, saying he’s received death threats. Swift has been regularly attacking Braun since he acquired the label, which included the masters to most of her early albums, and recently accused him of blocking her from singing her old songs at the upcoming AMAs, a charge Big Machine denies.
