Ryan Tedder Clarifies He Was Kidding About Adele-Beyoncé Collaboration With OneRepublic

Sorry, OneRepublic fans: The band’s new album does not have a collaboration with Adele, Beyonce and Coldplay’s Chris Martin. On Monday, fromtman Ryan Tedder posted on his Instagram Story, “Three of my favorite things: absurdity, kidding, joke,” next to the screenshots of the literal dictionary definitions of the words. He then wrote, “Journalist: any cool collaborations on the next @onerepublic album? Me utilizing ‘sarcasm,’ ‘kidding,’ and a ‘joke’ simultaneously, ‘Ya, we have one song featuring Beyonce, Adele and Chris Martin, but I don’t want to talk about it or give too much away.'” To rub salt in the wound, he also shared screenshots of the many excited articles quoting what he said and added, “Come onnnnnnnnn people..All that said, wouldn’t that be a fire collab? I’d stream it.” The confusion was understandable: Tedder’s written tunes for both Adele and Beyoncé, and at the Global Citizen Festival over the weekend, he told a journalist, “We have one song featuring Beyoncé and Adele with a Chris Martin piano solo in the bridge.”
