Ryan Reynolds is feeling lucky after he escaped a collapsing barricade at the Comic-Con Experience in Sao Paulo, Brazil, this past weekend. People reports that when the 43-year-old actor jumped off a stage to greet fans during a promo event for his upcoming film, Free Guy, the barricade separating him from the crowd buckled and collapsed, nearly crushing him. Videos of the incident show Reynolds jumping back as the barrier fell over. His Free Guy co-star, Stranger Things’ Joe Keery, also managed to escape injury. “I think it looked worse than it was,” the 43-year-old later told ET. “All I was worried about were the people that were–what you could tell is that they were falling, like, ‘Oh, they’re gonna be fine,’ and it’s like, ‘Oh, but that leg is gonna go,’ so I jumped out. But it was, yeah, everyone was fine.” He also joked, “My only job that [wife] Blake [Lively] said as I was leaving was, ‘Just come home in one piece. So that was my only job.” By the way, Free Guy opens in theaters on July 3, 2020.
