The public has opinions about just about everything the Sussexes do—from the planes they take, to the way they handle disputes with the media, to the amount of time Meghan Markle spends away from their baby Archie, to …. Instagram spelling errors.
Recently, it came to Instagram users' attention that Meghan and Prince Harry's official account made a typing error in a post. @sussexroyal posted a quote card attributed to Maya Angelou that read: "Each time a women stands up for herself, without knowing it possibly, without claiming it, she stands up for all women." Almost immediately, users started screaming that the first "women" in the quote should have said "woman."
The pile-on became so significant, they decided to repost a correction version with an apology that read: "We post inspiring words like these so you can enjoy them, remember them, and share them - all the more reason to ensure they're accurate. We are reposting because of a typo in the previous quote card. Apologies for the hiccup, and many thanks to those of you who flagged it for us! We do hope you'll keep and share these powerful words from Maya Angelou."
