Paul Rudd has reportedly joined cast of the next installment in the Ghostbusters franchise. According to Variety, Rudd will portray a teacher alongside Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard, Gifted star Mckenna Grace and Carrie Coon. The film is being directed by Jason Reitman, whose father Ivan directed the original Ghostbusters. “I’m thrilled [Rudd] will be joining this new chapter in the original Ghostbusters universe,” Reitman says. The story will reportedly be an extension of the original and focus on a single mom and her family, with Coon playing the mom and Wolfhard playing her son. While it’s unknown how exactly it connects to the original Ghostbusters series, Sigourney Weaver is also rumored to return as Dana Barrett. The movie is expected to hit theaters in summer of 2020.
