Nicole Kidman is opening up about love, life and her faith.
Kidman, 51, who was married to Tom Cruise, 56, for a decade, tells Australian Women’s Weekly that she leaned on her friends, especially Hugh and Deborah Jackman, after their 2001 split.
The Big Little Lies star says: "When I got divorced, Hugh and Deb were so much a part of my healing. They were some of my best friends through that period."
Cruise and Kidman share two adopted children, Isabella, 26, and Connor, 24.
Kidman married Keith Urban, 51, in 2006, and together, they share Sunday, 10, and Faith, 8. She says that these days, she values her family life above all else.
Kidman tells InStyle (she covers the June issue along with her Big Little Lies cast): "I love having my artistic path, and then my other passion is my family. That's probably all I need in my life. Other people are off doing things like having a girls' weekend. I don't have that because I go home. I want to be with my children and my husband."
She continues: "I'm an introvert, so my nature is very quiet, and I prefer being home. I'm deeply sensitive, so my ability to handle an enormous amount of exterior stress or toxicity … I know when I'm in the wrong place, and I go, and I leave. My home is very nourishing."
Kidman also shares the best advice she got from their family priest: "The greatest thing our family priest told us very early on in our marriage was, 'Always kiss hello and kiss goodbye.' It just keeps you connected."
