NBC Stars “Sleigh” at the Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting in NYC
Some of NBC’s biggest stars were on hand for the 87th annual lighting of the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree on Wednesday, including Saturday Night Live stars Kenan Thompson, Aidy Bryant, Michael Che and Colin Jost, The Voice judges Gwen Stefani and John Legend, and rocker Jon Bon Jovi. USA Today reports that Bon Jovi gave a powerful performance of “Unbroken,” during the extravaganza, and Stefani and Legend both chipped in with a couple of Christmas songs each, including “You Make It Feel Like Christmas” and “Christmas Baby.” The SNL crew kicked off the festivities with Thompson’s Grinch-inspired opening, before his co-stars set him straight and back into the holiday spirit. Billy Porter and Idina Menzel kept the music flowing with a duet of “I Got My Love to Keep Me Warm,” before the real star of the show, the 77-foot Norway Spruce planted 60 years ago, was lit up as the crowd cheered. The tree was lit with more than 50,000 colorful LED lights and was topped with a 900-pound star made of more than 3 million Swarovski crystals.
