MORGAN FREEMAN BLAMED FOR GRANDDAUGHTER’S DEATH AT KILLER’S SENTENCING

At a combative sentencing of Morgan Freeman’s step-granddaughter E’Dena Hines’ killer, the defendant’s family screamed that it was the actor’s fault, claiming he’d sexually abused her as a child.

"Morgan Freeman molested her and he caused this. He did this," Lamar Davenport’s mother claimed, before being ushered out of court as Davenport was sentenced to 20 years behind bars.

"He’s innocent! It was an accident!" she said. The claims first surfaced during the murder trial. Freeman has strenuously denied the allegations.

Davenport was convicted of stabbing Hines to death on August 16, 2015. He reportedly killed her in a PCP-induced rage in front of multiple witnesses. He was convicted of manslaughter after waiving a jury trial.

In a victim impact statement, Freeman’s first wife, Jeanette Adair Bradshaw said: "There is a void in our family. Those were our last laughs together, and I’ll never be able to hold my child again. I will never see her get married or have children. There will forever be an empty seat at our family gatherings."
