Modest Mouse Release New Single “Ice Cream Party”

Modest Mouse dropped its third single of the year on Friday, this one deliciously titled “Ice Cream Party.” As Consequence of Sound reports, the single is accompanied by an ice cream-filled video. But although the video includes plenty of tasty looking ice cream and adorable balloon animals, the song actually has a sad, psychedelic sound. “Well my father doesn’t bring the belt no more/It’s all right, would you please come over,” frontman Isaac Brock sings. “Sure you’ve heard that he and mom are separated and he’s gone/He won’t be around/An ice cream party at my house.” The band–who hadn’t released new music for four years before 2019–is wrapping a tour with The Black Keys this month before heading out on their own tour in December.
