We all have our regrets about missteps we’ve made in our past, but very few of us have the opportunity—or would have the courage—to acknowledge them in public. Actress Mila Kunis recently took the opportunity to do just that. She shared her sorrow over her relationship with Macaulay Culkin, and also discussed how she found love with husband Ashton Kutcher.
The 34-year-old That 70s Show alum appeared on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast, and while she didn’t dish on details, she spilled that her split from 37-year-old Culkin was "horrible, horrible," candidly revealing that she "f---ed up."
"I was an a—— in my 20s and I’ll be the first to admit it. And that’s something that took me a long time to come out and be like, ‘Yeah, you know what, I was a d—,’ and accept it and I own it now," she said.
The mother of two continued, "And it’s f—— up what I did. It’s f—— up what I did and it’s f—— up how I did it. When I got to be a single I said, ‘I just need to figure myself out.’ I genuinely need to know why I did what I did, and, like, regroup myself as a human being."
They dated from 2002-2011. Culkin has now moved on with Brenda Song.
FALLING FOR KUTCHER
Kunis also revealed how she and her former co-star hooked up. She said the first time she stayed at her 40-year-old now-husband’s place, she had actually been stood up by a guy Kutcher was trying to set her up with.
They met, of course, on That 70’s Show, when Kunis was 14 and Kutcher was 20, so he saw her as a "little sister" for years, but that night, they realized there was something more with Kutcher. They married in 2015.
