MEGHAN MARKLE’S FATHER ASKS QUEEN TO HELP HEAL RIFT

Meghan Markle’s estranged father Thomas is pulling out all the stops in a bid to get her to let him back into her life. The 74-year-old appeared on ITV’s Good Morning Britain Monday, explaining that he wanted to patch the rift between himself and the 37-year-old Duchess.

They haven’t spoken since the night before her May wedding to Prince Harry, and he claims he’s texted her every day since, in addition to writing letters (and giving interviews pleading his case).

He says he hasn’t even received a Christmas card from Meghan, and made a pitch via the interview to the Queen. He says: "I would appreciate anything the Queen could do. I would think she would want to resolve family problems. All families, royal or otherwise, are the same and they should all be together – certainly around the holidays."

Thomas says he truly hopes that the pregnant Meghan will allow him to see his grandson. He says: "That would be very nice and I look forward to that happening. I’m hopeful. I think it should happen. I think she’ll make a great mom and maybe things will soften a little bit and we’ll connect again. There has to be a place for me. I’m her father, and I will be the grandfather to the children — so all I can say is that I’m here, she knows it. I’ve reached out to her and I need her to reach back to me. I love her very much."

HARRY OPTS OUT OF HUNT

Meanwhile, Harry has opted out of a traditional annual pheasant hunt in deference to Meghan’s love of animals, the Daily Mail reports.

Sources tell the paper that this latest development will only deepen the alleged rift between Harry and his brother William.

"William sees this as another concerning example of his brother being pulled away from his family by his new wife," an insider told the Sunday Mirror. "Harry’s always loved hunting and it has provided them with a great chance to bond as brothers."
