Royals are supposed to stay mum on all things political, but the newly minted Duchess Meghan Markle has reportedly continued her streak of flouting convention by seemingly signaling—however subtly—her approval of abortion rights.
After the Duchess of Sussex attended a garden party Tuesday night in Dublin, Irish Senator Catherine Noon tweeted that she’d "had a chat" with Meghan about the May referendum that overturned the abortion ban in Ireland.
"She watched with interest and was pleased to see the result," Noone wrote.
Noone attempted to walk it back, tweeting shortly after: "I should say she seemed pleased—she was interested and very measured, not political at all."
She later deleted both tweets and told the Irish Independent that she had "unintentionally" misled people with her comments.
