Liam Payne Takes Heat From Reviewers & Twitter Over “LP1”: Is Song “Both Ways” Bi-Phobic?
Former One Direction member Liam Payne is taking heat from Twitter users over his first solo release LP1, which came out last week. AP critic Mark Kennedy doesn’t pull any punches in his assessment of Payne’s debut, calling it “a collection of monotonous club songs that often sound like warmed-over Justin Beiber rejects.” Kennedy says the album’s first song, “Stack It Up” with A Boogie Wit da Hoodie, “is the best and then the album falls off a cliff,” while crediting that tune’s strength because it was “co-written by Ed Sheeran.” Meanwhile, the track “Both Ways” is rubbing many fans the wrong way, with many calling it “biphobic,” Pride reports. Fans accuse Payne of “fetishizing” bisexual women in the song, seemingly bragging about his girlfriend’s sexual preference. In fact, one Twitter user started the hashtag #liampayneisoverparty, where users posted their disappointment with the song:

”hi i am a bisexual female, and since no one understands- i am offended by liam payne’s lyrics in both ways , it sexualizes and fetishizes bisexuals and it is not OK. #liampayneisoverparty thanks for coming to my ted talk”

”Liam is in fact homophobic & is fetishizing bisexual women, and hates how Harry dresses feminine.”

”I was so shocked when I heard new Liam’s song, I personally don’t love it, and i can see why people is getting offended, but saying that he doesn’t want his son around Harry b/c of the way he dress! Man he needs to learn how to keep some comments for himself #liampayneisoverparty”

”L*am putting “I don’t judge“ in his wack-a** song is like people saying “I‘m not racist or anything but…“ and then go on saying something racist Lmao”

”this s**t is so f**king gross like the lyrics are blatantly fetishizing bi women and EXPLICITLY talking about threesomes with two of them and it’s so disgusting i can barely read it. ‘like that ur different’ ‘love the way she’s turning u on’ ‘u take head i take tails’ WTF??”
