Kevin Spacey’s lawyers are hitting back at a sexual assault charge filed against him, saying the alleged victim allowed the groping to go on for three minutes, TMZ reports.
His lawyers went to court last week to try to block prosecutors from filing charges, on grounds of insufficient evidence.
According to a transcript obtained by the Boston Globe, Spacey’s lawyers said the alleged victim, who was 18 at the time of the 2016 incident, did not report it until later. The accuser is the son of former Boston news anchor Heather Unruh. She came forward with the story last year, amid more than 30 allegations of Spacey’s misconduct.
Anthony Rapp was the first person to publicly share his story about Spacey.
Shortly after the charge against him was filed, Spacey released a video in the character of his former House of Cards character. The clip has been viewed millions of times.
