Supermodel and activist Karlie Kloss married venture capitalist Josh Kusnher in a surprise ceremony Thursday after getting engaged in July. They’ve been together for six years altogether.
Kloss, 26, and Kushner, 33, keep much of their relationship private, with many speculating that his relationship to the first family (his brother is Jared Kushner and his sister-in-law is Ivanka Trump, daughter of President Donald Trump) has complicated life for both of them. Kloss supported Hilary Clinton’s run for president.
It’s unclear if his family was in attendance at the wedding. Kloss has spoken out several times about her "liberal values" (and claims Josh Kushner shares them as well), but she seems to be on cordial terms with Ivanka Trump, who tweeted a congratulations to them. (Though social media users were quick to drag both women for their connection to each other, writing that Kloss is now "complicit" with Trump's politics by marrying into the family, and that Trump is merely using Kloss' cultural cache to boost her family).
Kloss did share news of their engagement on social media, and also shared a sweet shot of their wedding, which took place in front of around 80 people in Upstate New York. Kloss reportedly converted to Judaism for Kushner and they plan to hold a larger ceremony at a later date.
