Kanye West Ties Eminem With 9th Consecutive #1 Album for “Jesus is King”

Kanye West’s new album Jesus is King has hit #1 on the Billboard charts–his ninth consecutive album to debut in the top spot. The gospel-inspired LP, which was finally released October 25 after a few false starts, ties Eminem for the most consecutive #1’s on the Billboard 200. The album also delivered West his biggest streaming week ever, at 196.9 million on-demand streams. The album also had the second-best week for an R&B/hip-hop album in 2019, following only Post Malone’s Hollywood’s Bleeding. In a recent interview, West added that he plans to release an album titled Jesus Is Born on Christmas Day.
