Kanye West Bonds With Dad in Video for “Follow God,” Which He Also Performed at Travis Scott’s Astroworld
Kanye West dropped a surprisingly touching music video on Friday for his Jesus Is King track, “Follow God.” The two-and-a-half-minute visual finds the rapper bonding with his real-life dad, Ray West, on the grounds of his Wyoming ranch. The clip opens with the elder West asking, “What does it really mean to follow God?” in voiceover as he and Kanye get into an ATV and proceed to drive around the property. They later get out of the vehicle to do a little dance. The video ends with a blue background and the words, “It took me 42 years to realize my dad was my best friend. He asked me, ‘How many acres is this?’ I told him 4,000. He replied with these three words: ‘A black man?'” Meanwhile, Billboard reports that ‘Ye showed up in Houston this past Saturday night to deliver a surprise performance of “Follow God” at Travis Scott’s Astroworld festival.
