Jenna Dewan and Channing Tatum's split wasn't as picture-perfect as it seems, she reveals. In her new book, Gracefully You: How To Live Your Best Life Every Day, the 38-year-old reveals that she and her 39-year-old then-husband split after nine years of marriage when they both realized their dynamic was completely unhealthy.
"I'd come to realize the dynamic I was in wasn't serving me nor was it serving my daughter," Dewan writes. "First and foremost I had to accept the realization this isn't working and had moved into hurting." The pair share Everly, 6.
While they agreed to split the night before her first day of filming for the second season of World of Dance, they managed to keep their breakup a secret. And even after their split, they appeared in sync and presented a united front to the world.
"The public saw Channing and I in this idealized romanticized light," she writes of that period. "This made things difficult for me because I like being as honest and real as I can."
Dewan has since moved on with Steve Kazee, with whom she's expecting her second child. She recently told People she wasn't looking for a relationship when they got together: "I wasn't looking for it. But it sort of took me by complete storm. It happened when I least expected it."
Tatum has also moved on, with singer Jessie J.
