Jason Derulo Explains Why He Collaborated With K-Pop Artists
Jason Derulo’s latest single, “Let’s Shut Up & Dance,” marks a move in a new direction for the 29-year-old. For the upbeat, energy-packed pop song, Derulo teamed up with popular K-pop acts, Lay Zhang and the 10-member boy band NCT 127, initiating a trans-Pacific partnership he thinks ought to be increasingly common in the musical future. “I was so excited about this collaboration,” he told AP. “We come from totally different worlds, but I really, really love their talent.” Derulo has branched out and worked with artists from other genres in the past, including Colombian superstar Maluma and country music king Luke Bryan.
