James Bay Covers “False God,” Taylor Swift Flips Out

Taylor Swift had a less-than-chill reaction to James Bay covering her song “False God” this week. Billboard reports that, after Bay posted a video of himself performing the Lover track, Swift reposted the clip and wrote, “This is STUNNING. THE TALENT.” When Bay originally posted the performance, he wrote, “Still on this jam!” ABC points out that country singer and songwriter Ryan Hurd — who’s married to Maren Morris — also recently posted on social media about wishing he’d written “False God.” Swift responded to him by saying, “If you were to re-cut the song and cover it, I would burst into a cloud of confetti.”
