Jada Pinkett Smith has opened up about her Red Table Talk interview with Jordyn Woods, which she says "had to be done." During a recent interview with Metro, Jada revealed that she thought the conversation — which has amassed 33 million views, would make matters worse for Jordyn.
She explained, "What was interesting about that one is I didn't know if I would be able to do her justice because she's so close to me. I really wanted to see if someone else would do the interview because I also didn't want it to feel exploitative."
Jada went on to say that she reached out to Jordyn about doing the interview following drama that took place behind the scenes, which encouraged her to defend Jordyn. She continued, "A lot of things transpired behind-the-scenes that made it imperative that we do it. I really tried to wait to see if anybody else could do it. I felt like it was so new. I felt like, you've got one shot and I don't know if I'm the best place for that because of our relationship."
Jada then added, "Like I said, there were so many things that transpired behind the scenes that it had to be done."
