Jack White Praises “Old Town Road” & The Black Keys

Jack White praises the success of Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” and his former frenemies The Black Keys in a new interview with Rolling Stone. It’s beautiful. The song is only a minute and 47 seconds long or something–that’s how long “Fell in Love With a Girl” was,” White says of the country/hip-hop crossover. “People said, ‘They’re not going to play that on radio.’ But it worked, and it’s great that it’s happening again.” White goes on to speak highly of fellow “rock & rollers,” including The Black Keys’ Patrick Carney and Dan Auerbach, who he previously had beef with. “I think [the beef] was some lawyers trying to screw me over and trying to take something out of context,” White notes. “Patrick Carney stopped by while we were recording this Raconteurs album and let me borrow a microphone. That was cool of him.”

Jack White cosigns “Old Town Road”, Greta Van Fleet, and Twenty One Pilots
