J. Cole Leads Pack With 3 Wins at 2019 BET Hip-Hop Awards

J. Cole was the big winner at the 2019 BET Hip-Hop Awards, which taped last weekend and aired Tuesday night. The rapper took home three awards, including Lyricist of the Year, Best Featured Verse for “A Lot” and Impact Track for “Middle Child.” DaBaby won Best New Artist while Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” remix, which took home Single of the Year and Best Collab, Duo or Group. Meanwhile, Cardi B’s “Money” earned Best Video, while Travis Scott nabbed album of the year for <i>Astroworld</i>. Lil Kim also received the “I Am Hip-Hop” award, which she accepted with a heartfelt speech and a medley of hits with guests Musiq Soulchild and Junior M.A.F.I.A. Other performances came from Megan Thee Stallion, who teamed up with DaBaby and took home two awards, including for best mixtape for <i>Fever</i>, as well as Chance the Rapper, T-Pain and Rick Ross, Rapsody, Offset, and YBN Cordae.
