Meghan Markle has not had an easy go of it. The newly minted Duchess has been in the spotlight for months now, especially leading up to and since her May 19th nuptials to Prince Harry and her 74-year-old father’s catastrophically revealing chats with the press (many of which he was allegedly paid for).
Now, it seems Meghan is being shielded from the media by the royal family in a desperate attempt to do damage control. Royal correspondent Richard Palmer claimed on Twitter that he and others are being kept away so they "can’t hear what she is saying. If you can’t get direct quotes from members of the Royal Family that often makes for dull stories. You go afterwards and ask what she said. Mr. Bloggs said: ‘The Duchess expressed the hope that women would eventually get the same opportunities as men in this profession.’ Boring."
RELATIONSHIP WITH FATHER DONE?
A source described as a "good friend" says her relationship with her father Thomas is over, thanks to his increasingly embarrassing rants in the press about how the royal family is keeping her from him.
A source tells The Daily Mail: "A reconciliation is completely off the table at the moment. There's no chance right now—he's been a complete embarrassment."
"The Royal Family isn't as upset as you'd think," the friend continued. "Nothing any of them the Markle family say has any real consequence and they Meghan and Harry have more important things to focus on."
