NEW CLIP FOR HALLOWEEN DROPS: Michael Myers is coming back to Haddonfield to hunt down Jamie Lee Curtis’ Laurie Strode in Halloween, out October 19th. In a new clip, he tries to take out a few other people along the way as Rhian Rees’ Dana Haines attempts to investigate his killings 40 years ago. Halloween costars Judy Greer, Haluk Bilginer, Will Patton, Jefferson Hall, and Toby Huss, among others.

RYAN COOGLER TO WRITE & DIRECT BLACK PANTHER SEQUEL: Ryan Coogler will begin writing the follow-up to his $1.3 billion Black Panther original next year, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Marvel is mum on when it will land. Chadwick Boseman and other stars are widely expected to return.

JEFFREY DEAN MORGAN, DAVID STRATHAIRN SIGN ON FOR WALKAWAY JOE: Barbershop star Tom Wright is making his directorial debut with Walkaway Joe. Wright has recruited David Strathairn, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Julie Ann Emery and Julian Feder to star in the film, acout a boy named Dallas, who goes on a search for his pool-hustling father.

FREYA TINGLEY TO STAR IN YEAR OF THE DETECTIVES: Hemlock Grove’s Freya Tingley and True Grit’s Paul Rae are set to star in the indie thriller Year of the Detectives. Tingley will take on the role of Nic O’Connell, who inherits her grandfather’s P.I. agency in Chinatown. Rae plays a detective who helps her attempt to solve the mystery of her grandparents’ death as other people turn up dead as well. Dralla Aierken and Jim Meskimen also star.

BBC STRIKES FIRST-LOOK DEAL WITH LIONSGATE: BBC Studios is expanding its television production footprint in the U.S. The British production studio has signed a broad deal with Lionsgate to identify and co-develop scripted formats for the U.S. market.
