JIM BROADBENT JOINS JUDI DENCH IN SIX MINUTES TO MIDNIGHT: Oscar-winner Jim Broadbent is joining Judi Dench and Eddie Izzard in Six Minutes to Midnight, a thriller set in the 1930s. Carla Juri (Blade Runner 2049, Someone Like Me) and James D’Arcy (Dunkirk, Cloud Atlas) also star. The film is based on the true story of a teacher who was assigned to a boarding school in England where the daughters of high-ranking Nazis learn to become members of Hitler’s League of German Girls.

MERYL STREEP IS (ALMOST) A GO AS AUNT MARCH: Greta Gerwig is directing a new adaptation of Little Women and the stars are aligning for the hot new director. Meryl Streep is in the last stage of negotiations to play Aunt March, while Saoirse Ronan, Emma Stone, Florence Pugh and Timothée Chalamet are also in talks to star. The film is expecting to begin filming in October and may be in theaters as soon as next fall.

MILES TELLER SIGNS ON FOR TOP GUN SEQUEL: Miles Teller will star opposite Tom Cruise (who plays Maverick) in the long-awaited sequel to Top Gun. Val Kilmer is also reprising his role as Iceman. Joseph Kosinski is directing. Teller reportedly beat Nicholas Hoult and Glen Powell for the role as the son of Maverick’s wingman, Goose. He was played by Anthony Edwards in the original, and when he died, Maverick blamed himself.

KHALI THE KILLER ACCIDENTALLY UPLOADED TO YOUTUBE: Whoopsie! Quick-thinking fans were able to see Sony’s Khali the Killer on YouTube Tuesday morning, thanks to an uploading error. Pictures Home Entertainment uploaded the entire thing, in lieu of the trailer it meant to upload. The film was written and directed by Jon Matthews and stars Richard Cabral. The film was released on DVD last November and is currently available for rent or purchase from Amazon, Apple and, of course, YouTube.
