SEE THE CONNERS IN ACTION: ABC released the first shot of The Conners, the spinoff of the rebooted Roseanne, which was canceled after the titular star fired off a series of racist tweets. The whole crew is there, minus Roseanne Barr herself. The photo features Sara Gilbert, John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Jayden Rey, Michael Fishman, Ames McNamara,Lecy Goranson and Emma Kenney at their first table read at—wait for it—the table from Roseanne. TBD how they’ll handle Barr’s ouster, but Goodman has hinted that her character may be dead.

LIGHTNING STRIKES A STAR IS BORN: It’s electric! The theater that premiered the Lady Gaga-starring and Bradley Cooper directed and toplined A Star Is Born in Venice got struck by lightning halfway through the screening, according to reports. The film was delayed for 15 minutes as staff scrambled to replace the blown out projector bulb. Gaga took it in stride, laughing and blowing kisses to audience members. The Venice Film Festival got hit with heavy rains, but the show has gone on, and the early reviews of A Star is Born are very positive.

BIG BROTHER PRODUCERS STEP IN AFTER QUESTIONABLE BEHAVIOR: Big Brother producers responded to allegations that JC Mounduix behaved inappropriately on-set. On Wednesday night during the CBS show’s live feed, he was involved in two incidents of alleged sexual harassment. (He watched Haleigh Broucher use the bathroom and touched Tyler Crispen’s sleeping body). Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that producers stepped in and while Mounduix will be allowed to remain in the house, his behavior will be monitored. No official complaints were made by any of the house guests.

CHADWICK BOSEMAN SAYS BLACK PANTHER AIMING FOR BEST PICTURE: Chadwick Boseman loves the idea of the "popular film" award at the Oscars, but he believes Black Panther should be considered as a straight-up Best Picture. "We don't know what it the new prize is, so I don't know whether to be happy about it or not," Boseman told The Hollywood Reporter's 'Awards Chatter' podcast. "What I can say is that there's no campaign that we are mounting for popular film; like, if there's a campaign, it's for best picture, and that's all there is to it."

THE GOOD DOCTOR SEASON TWO TRAILER DROPS: Lisa Edelstein is coming back to medicine! ABC has unveiled the trailer for season two of the wildly popular Good Doctor and the House alum will be trying to soothe Dr. Glassman’s jangly nerves. The Good Doctor returns on September 24.
