DAVID FOSTER: OFF THE RECORD TO BOW AT TIFF: The documentary David Foster: Off the Record will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. The hotly anticipated docu will bow in a gala premiere, and follow with a tribute to the musician, composer and producer. "A global musical genius, David Foster has left his mark on some of the most timeless songs of today while discovering and launching the careers of the industry's most talented artists, defining what it means to be a multi-hyphenate musician," said TIFF co-head Joana Vicente. "We are proud to celebrate his creations and collaborations with the World Premiere of David Foster: Off the Record at TIFF, honoring Foster in his native country." Foster's collabs have included work with Chicago, Barbra Streisand and Andrea Bocelli and he has also been credited with discovering and working with Celine Dion, Michael Bublé and Josh Groban.

THE LIGHTHOUSE TRAILER DROPS: A24 has debuted a new trailer for The Lighthouse, which stars Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson. The Robert Eggers' helmed fantasy horror film, which was named Best Movie at Cannes' Critics Week, was shot on black-and-white 35mm film, and will open on October 18th.

MELISSA MCCARTHY FUELS LITTLE MERMAID RUMORS: There has been talk for weeks that Melissa McCarthy is in talks to take on the iconic role of villain Ursula in Disney's live-action Little Mermaid, and she fueled the buzz on Jimmy Kimmel Live! "I read that you are going to be a part of the live-action remake of Little Mermaid," Kimmel began inquiring. McCarthy interrupted and asked, "What's that? I hadn't heard about that. It seems like it will be an awfully fun thing to do. I'd love if Disney gave me a little ringy-ding-ding." She then winked at the camera, and said: "If it did happen, it would be very wonderful, Disney." Halle Bailey is starring, and Javier Bardem, Harry Styles, Awkwafina and Jacob Tremblay are also rumored to be in negotiations.
