PENNY MARSHALL PARTY PLANNED IN ROCKFORD: Penny Marshall brought Rockford, Illinois international attention with her 1992 film about the Rockford Peaches baseball team, A League of Their Own. The town is honoring the late Marshall's impact a year after death with a Penny Marshall Celebration from Sept. 13 to 15. The first plans for Rockford's International Women's Baseball Museum will also be unveiled. "It's an honor to be mayor of a town that embraces, supports and celebrates sports," says Rockford Mayor Tom McNamara. "The Rockford Peaches have had an international reputation, and our community has celebrated the team's history for many years. We're excited about the next steps in establishing the International Women's Baseball Center in Rockford. Our administration and City Council recognize the importance of this project not only to the City but also to women's baseball and to the legacy of our Rockford Peaches."

MARGOT ROBBIE AND ASSEMBLE MEDIA PARTNER ON HORROR ANTHO: Margot Robbie and her LuckyChap Entertainment are teaming up with Assemble Media and Warner Horizon to crank out Elizabeth Massie's Ameri-Scares book series into a family-friendly horror anthology. "With Ameri-Scares we saw the perfect opportunity for us to delve into the horror space, and tell the kind of unique and scary stories we used to tell each other around the campfire or at sleepovers as kids," Robbie and her company said in a statement. "We're excited to team with our partners at Assemble and Warner Horizon to bring Elizabeth Massie's cross-country series of thrilling mysteries and haunting folk stories to life."

WARNERMEDIA HBO MAX REVEAL DATE SET: AT&T has set its big reveal for HBO Max: October 29th. Topics expected to be covered are pricing, subscription features and product demos. The service, which is expected to bow in 2020, already has major celeb backing, with projects starring Anna Kendrick, Ansel Elgort, Kaley Cuoco and several others set.

AMAZON NIXES TRADITIONAL RELEASE FOR THE AERONAUTS: Amazon Studios' buzzy The Aeronauts, starring Felicity Jones and Eddie Redmayne, will no longer get a traditional theatrical release, and will instead be available almost immediately to viewers. The 1862 period adventure follows the story of two hot air balloonists, and was set to open in Imax theatres October 25th, with a traditional theatrical bow starting November 1st. Now, The Aeronauts will be available in select theaters December 6thbefore premiering two weeks after on Prime. Some observers say the new release schedule puts the film's future in Imax theaters in jeopardy, though the streamer declined to comment either way.
