TOM HANKS IS MISTER ROGERS: Tom Hanks really wants to be your neighbor. On Monday, the first trailer for Sony's A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood dropped. The film, directed by Marielle Heller, stars Hanks as Fred "Mister" Rogers and Matthew Rhys as a cynical reporter Lloyd Vogel as he accepts an assignment to profile Rogers. The film bows November 22nd.
BOBBY CANNAVALE, JAI COURTNEY, MORE JOIN JOLT: Bobby Cannavale, Jai Courtney, Laverne Cox and Stanley Tucci are joining Kate Beckinsale in action-comedy Jolt. The film follows the story of Lindy, a woman with rage issues. Filming is now underway in London.
FRIENDS GETS SHOUT-OUT FROM COFFEE BEAN & TEA LEAF: Coffee was a central character on Friends, and on the 25th anniversary of the show, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf chain is commemorating the milestone with special edition Central Perk Coffee and Tea products, named after the shop the characters spent so much time at. The drinks joined lines of Friends furniture from Ikea and Pottery Barn, who also wanted to celebrate the TV milestone.
NETFLIX BOOSTS PRESCHOOL OFFERINGS: Netflix has unveiled seven new original preschool series, including a CG animated comedy that will expand DreamWorks Animation's How To Train Your Dragon franchise. Other new shows include DreamWorks Archibald's Next Big Thing, Go! Go! Cory Carson and Chico Bon Bon. "With high-quality, age-appropriate programming for kids at every age and stage, we want to help young people find and connect with the stories and characters they love on Netflix," said Melissa Cobb, VP Original Animation at Netflix. "We are also here to empower parents to find the shows that are just right for their families during whatever time they feel is appropriate to enjoy entertainment."
