ABC PULLS PLUG ON MURDER: The Viola Davis drama How To Get Away With Murder is getting killed after season 6, ABC says. The Shondaland-produced drama will wrap with 15 more episodes in the 2019-2020 season. "Viola Davis made television history with her unforgettable portrayal of iconic female anti-hero Annalise Keating," ABC entertainment president Karey Burke said. "I am eternally grateful to her, Pete Nowalk and Shondaland for creating and bringing to life such a smart, sophisticated and groundbreaking series that has long been an integral part of Thursday nights on ABC." The final season returns September 26th.

NICK CASSAVETES TO DIRECT EMMA ROBERTS IN NOW I SEE YOU: The Notebook director Nick Cassavetes has joined the Emma Roberts drama Now I See You as director. Mark Klein is adapting the script from Nicole Kear’s memoir about going blind. Casting for a mal lead is underway.

BROOKLYN NINE-NINE’s CHEDDAR DIES: Stewart, the sweet corgi who played Captain Raymond Holt’s (Andre Braugher) dog Cheddar on Brooklyn Nine-Nine has died at age 13. Stewart’s person shared the news on Instagram. He wrote: "We went to the beach (his favorite place) where he frolicked in the surf and then enjoyed a picnic lunch of In & Out burgers. We relaxed in the sun and just enjoyed each other’s company. Our veterinarian met us there later and Stewart went to sleep peacefully in my arms while listening to the sounds of the ocean. He was a one in a million kind of dog, he was my supaah staah." Brooklyn Nine-Nine was recently renewed for a seventh season.

STORM REID JOINS IDRIS ELBA IN SUICIDE SQUAD: Storm Reid has joined the cast of Warner Bros.’ The Suicide Squad.
