JOHN WICK 3 SURGES PAST $180M: After 10 days out, John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum has become the highest grossing film in the series. Parabellum has already snagged $181 million globally, surpassing Chapter 2’s take of $171.5 million. The film follows Keanu Reeves, who returns as the formerly retired hitman who gets stripped of the protection of a guild of international assassins, and has a $14 million bounty on his head. Franchise newcomers Halle Berry and Anjelica Huston also star.

NETFLIX DOUBLES DOWN IN MIDDLE EAST: Netflix is stepping up production in the Middle East with its most ambitious Arabic original yet. Titled Paranormal, Egyptian director Amr Salama has signed on for Netflix’s third foray into the region. The series, which is set in the 1960s, is based on bestselling Arabic horror books by Ahmed Khaled Tawfi.

KKR & FRED KOGEL SNAG MOONFALL: Roland Emmerich’s action-disaster flick Moonfall has been caught by KKR and Fred Kogel in an unnamed joint venture project. The German company also snagged Robert Lorenz’s Minuteman starring Liam Neeson, Philip John’s Let There Be Rock and Jon S. Baird’s Rotchild starring Shia LaBeouf.
