NETFLIX INCREASES PRICE OF STREAMING SERVICE: Netflix is hiking up fees for its streaming services. Netflix’s Standard tier will now be $12.99, a hike of 18% from $10.99. It’s Basic plan will go up to $8.99 from $7.99 per month. The Premium is getting increased to $15.99 from $13.99. Netflix last raised rates in 2017, and reportedly saw a minimal dropoff in subscribers.

CAROL CHANNING DIES AT AGE 97: Larger-than-life musical stage personality Carol Channing has died at age 97. Channing rose to fame as Lorelei Lee in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes and then as Dolly Gallagher Levi in Hello Dolly! She died of natural causes. Her publicist B. Harlan Boll wrote on Facebook: "It is with extreme heartache, that I have to announce the passing of an original Industry Pioneer, Legend and Icon — Miss Carol Channing. Saying good-bye is one of the hardest things I have ever had to do, but I know that when I feel those uncontrollable urges to laugh at everything and/or nothing at all, it will be because she is with me, tickling my funny bone." Broadway stars, including Bernadette Peters and Lin-Manuel Miranda, memorialized her on Twitter.

SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME TRAILER DROPS: The first trailer for the Sony/Columbia Pictures summer release of Spider-Man: Far From Home has dropped, with the superhero finding himself far from home. Peter Parker (Tom Holland) heads out on a European vacation without his costume, but his chill time grinds to a halt in Venice when Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) recruits him to defeat mysterious foes. The Jon Watts-helmed Far From Home lands July 5th.

CYNTHIA NIXON, SHARON STONE JOIN RYAN MURPHY’S LATEST: Ryan Murphy has shared the bold-faced cast of Ratched, his forthcoming One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest prequel series for Netflix. Sarah Paulson will star as Nurse Ratched, and she will be joined by Jon Jon Briones (Sons of Anarchy), Charlie Carver (The Leftovers), Judy Davis (Feud), Harriet Harris, Cynthia Nixon (Sex and the City), Hunter Parrish (Weeds), Amanda Plummer (Pulp Fiction), Corey Stoll (The Strain), Sharon Stone and Finn Wittrock (American Horror Story).
