FIRST TRAILER FOR WHERE’D YOU GO, BERNADETTE DROPS: “Something unexpected has come up,” says Cate Blanchett’s character in the first trailer for Richard Linklater’s film Where’d You Go, Bernadette? The movie is based on Maria Semple’s 2012 novel of the same name. Her daughter, Bee Branch (Emma Nelson), narrates the story as she investigates her mother’s sudden absence before a family trip to Antartica. Kristen Wiig, Judy Greer, Billy Crudup, Troian Bellisario and Laurence Fishburne also star.The film bows March 22nd.

NETFLIX GREENLIGHTS CHILLING ADVENTURES FOR 16 MORE: Netflix has ordered 16 more episodes of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, which was set to air in two parts. Initially, the mega-streamer ordered two 10-episode seasons, with a holiday special (A Midwinter’s Tale) tacked on later. Season 2 will premiere April 5, 2019. The new episodes (which will be published in two separate seasons) will go into production next year as well. Kiernan Shipka plays the titular character.

CBS PULLS PLUG ON ELEMENTARY: Elementary will end after its seventh season on CBS. There is no premiere date as of yet for its final season. Since premiering in 2012, the Lucy Liu and Jonny Lee Miller-toplined drama has offered a modern-day spin on Sherlock Holmes.

SHIRLEY MACLAINE TO BE HONORED BY AARP: Shirley MacLaine will receive the AARP’s 2018 Movies for Grownups Career Achievement Award. She will be feted at the 18th annual Movies for Grownups Awards ceremony on Feb. 4 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif. The Oscar-winner has appeared in more than 50 films, including The Apartment, The Turning Point and Terms of Endearment. She has also won seven Golden Globes and has written 15 best-selling books. Previous recipients of the award include Helen Mirren, Morgan Freeman and Sharon Stone.
