Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were left stunned as they played their daily Spin The Wheel with a very unexpected viewer on Thursday’s edition of This Morning. 

Shocked hosts Holly, 39, and Phil, 57, gasped in shock as they discovered a doctor abandoned his patient to try his luck at the competition, eventually winning a spa break to Devon.

Amused fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the hilarious segment, with many joking they ‘wouldn’t want to be under his care’.

As the NHS professional picked up the phone following a lengthy pause, the presenters asked: ‘Why did it take you so long to pick up the phone?’

‘My name is Rhodrey, I’m a doctor working on the ward in Cardiff’, the excited player shared, leaving gobsmacked.

The caller continued to send the pair wild as he explained: ‘I’m with a patient, I just walked out.’

A flustered Holly went on to proceed with the game, as fellow Dancing On Ice star Phillip, who recently came out as gay, spun the wheel.

After correctly answering a question about Valentine’s Day, Rhodrey lands an idyllic trip to Devon. 

‘It’s a Devon spa break! You probably need that in your line of work’, media personality Holly teased.  

The caller received a mixed response from fans for leaving his patient to play the game, with some seeing the funny side of the matter, while others suggested the act was irresponsible.
