Helena Bonham Carter, 53, split from director Tim Burton, 61, in 2014 after 13 years together and two children: Nell, 11, and Billy, 16. In a cover interview with Harper's Bazaar U.K., she says she has fully moved on. They met when he directed her in 2001 in Planet of the Apes, and since then, they worked on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Alice in Wonderland and Dark Shadows.
"You break up, you grieve, you get bored of grieving, and then you finally move on," she said of the split. "I'm very happy with someone else. It's been a bit of unexpected magic in my life."
Carter has since found love with a 32-year-old writer named Holmboe: "I'm very happy with someone else. It's been a bit of unexpected magic in my life."
The pair share a "fur baby," she reveals, a Tibetan terrier named Pablo.
In addition to personal happiness, Carter reveals she's having a career Renaissance as well, thanks in part to her role as Princess Margaret in Season 3 of The Crown.
"When I turned 50, I worried it was downhill all the way, but it's quite the opposite," she says. "I don't think I've ever been happier or more fulfilled."
Season three of The Crown drops Nov. 17 on Netflix.
