Granger Smith’s 3-Year-Old Died in “Tragic Drowning Accident”
Country artist Granger Smith revealed in a heartbreaking Instagram post on Thursday that his 3-year-old son has died. “I have to deliver unthinkable news. We’ve lost our youngest son, River Kelly Smith. Following a tragic accident, and despite doctor’s best efforts, he was unable to be revived,” the 39-year-old wrote alongside a pic of him and River hugging and smiling. “Our family is devastated and heartbroken…There has never been a more difficult moment for us than this.” Smith also revealed that he and wife Amber chose to donate River’s organs “so that other children will be given a second chance at life.” A rep for the singer later confirmed to Just Jared that River “died in a tragic drowning accident at home.” Smith also asked for donations to Dell Children’s Medical Center in Austin, Texas, in lieu of flowers and gifts. Granger and Amber are also parents to 7-year-old daughter London and 5-year-old son Lincoln.
