As the MLB
season grinds on, unexpected contributions continue to make those
players fantasy relevant. At just about the quarter mark in the MLB
season, a lot of the players haven’t seemed to sort themselves out.
With the constant shuffling on the DL it is critical to keep an eye
on the Waiver Wire to make sure you find hot players each week.

Waiver Claims

Travis
Shaw 1B/3B Brewers –
Shaw has taken
advantage of playing in Milwaukee with 18 RBI, top twenty in MLB. The
former Red Sox has also jacked 5 longballs included in his 14 extra
bases hits and two stolen bases.

Tyler
Motter SS Mariners –
Motter has had a
nice start to his rookie campaign hitting 5 homers, driving in 13
runs and scoring 10 for Seattle. The 27-year-old is listed as
shortstop is also getting playing time at second and is worth using
going forward.

Joey
Gallo 3B Rangers –
Gallo
has come up and slugged 7 homers in just 72 at bats along with 12
walks in place of the injured Adrian Beltre. The Texas third sacker
has been listed as a perennial prospect for the last three years and
seems to be demonstrating why the Rangers have had such high hopes
that warrant him being owned in fantasy baseball.

David
Peralta OF Diamondbacks –
Peralta is
off to a nice start for 2017 hitting 326 with hits in 7 of his last 8
games for the surprising D-Backs. The young lefty has hit 3 homers,
drove in 7, scored 13 runs and stolen 3 bases. If you need some
offensive punch just grab Peralta.

Jason
Heyward OF Cubs –
Heyward
is rebounding from a lousy 2016 by hitting 282 with 3 dingers and a
team leading 16 runs driven in for the Cubs. The former Bravo has
also scored 9 runs and swiped one base and has hits in 10 of his last
12 games. Heyward seems to just be getting hotter so snag him.

Aaron
Judge OF Yankees –

Judge is putting on a show in the Bronx as
the 22-year-old stud has smacked 10 homers for the month of April. He
has also driven in 20 runs, scored 22 runs and walked 10 times in
just 73 at bats. If Judge is available he is an absolute must add for
the season.

Chris
Owings SS/OF Diamondbacks –
Owings
continues to play well in 2017 batting 318 with 28 hits in his first
88 at bats along with 4 dingers, 19 RBI, scoring 13 runs and swiping
7 bases in the first month of the season. Owings is playing too well
to ignore, and with two position eligibility he is a value asset.

Ivan
Nova SP Pirates –
Nova continues to
pitch well for Pittsburgh with 5 complete games since arriving last
July and this season he has allowed just 6 earned runs in 36 innings.
The former Yankee is sporting a spiffy 1.50 ERA, WHIP of 0.75, struck
out 22 while only walking one batter all season. Nova hurled a
complete game three hit shut out at Miami. With eligibility at
reliever his value is at an all-time high.

Jeremy
Hellickson SP Phillies –
Hellickson is
pitching as well as he has in his major-league career standing at 4-0
with an ERA of 1.80, WHIP of 0.80 and just 3 walks in 30 frames for
2017. The Phillie righty isn’t punching out many batters, 11 so
far, but otherwise is certainly worth owning and starting.

Luis
Severino SP/RP Yankees –

Severino is off to an impressive start
with 33 K’s and just 4 walks in 27 innings this season along with
an ERA of 3.00 and WHIP of 0.78. The young righty is listed as both a
starter and reliever and over his last three games he has gone 7+
frames making him certainly worth owing in all leagues and formats.
