EMILIA CLARKE RESPONDS TO ‘GAME OF THRONES’ CUP SCANDAL

Emilia Clarke is maintaining her innocence in the Starbucks coffee cup scandal. ICYMI, a random Starbucks cup appeared in the last episode of Game of Thrones, prompting outrage and hilarity on Twitter.

The scene in question occurred during a celebratory dinner at Winterfall, and it showed Daenerys Targaryen (Clarke) giving her boyfriend/nephew Jon Snow (Kit Harington) some major side-eye.

Clarke took to Instagram to share a shot of herself holding coffee, writing: "Did I just stumble upon the truth here?! The cup bearer does not drinketh the Starbucks tea...oh, and this ain’t a spoiler, just a lost wanderer coming home for a mid filming cuppa...."

HBO has edited out the show of the cup, so thank goodness for screengrabs. The show did respond to the uproar on Twitter, writing: "The latte that appeared in the episode was a mistake. #Daenerys had ordered an herbal tea."

ON BRAIN SURGERY

Clarke also spoke out on a serious note recently, telling Stylist that after suffering from two brain aneurysms, her self-esteem was deeply impacted.

Clarke said: "I was so full of drugs from being in the hospital that I had a lot of water retention, and one half of my face was quite swollen. I felt so deeply unattractive. What I can see now is that I could see the pain behind my eyes. And no amount of anything can cover that."
