Cosmetics Company Founder Fires His Own Sister for Transphobic Remark

The founder of Too Faced Cosmetics fired his own sister this week after she appeared to make a transphobic remark on social media. People reports that the whole thing started after 25-year-old YouTube makeup star Nikkie de Jager—a.k.a. NikkieTutorials–came out as transgender in a YouTube video. The sister of Too Faced founder Jerrod Blandino wrote in response, “Transgender, huh? That’s not the only thing she’s been LYING about.” After an uproar, the 49-year-old Blandino said Tuesday in a statement, “Although I love my sister very much, the things she says or does have absolutely nothing to do with me…I am truly shocked and disgusted to my core at her recent actions. I do not tolerate this behavior and she is no longer an employee at Too Faced.” Blandino’s sister then reportedly changed her Instagram bio to read, “Let’s be clear, I love trans people and dislike anyone who lies to hurt others! Period!”
