CHRISSY TEIGEN SAYS SHE AVOIDED POST-PARTUM DEPRESSION BY EATING PLACENTA

Supermodel and cookbook author Chrissy Teigen has a new food reco for new moms: placenta! In a preview of her interview with Sunday’s Best: Celebrating 40 Years of CBS Sunday Morning, Teigen tells Rita Braver that she believes she avoided post-partum depression with her second child, Miles, by eating her placenta.

Teigen, who was been open about her struggles with fertility and depression following the birth of her first child, Luna, tells a dubious Braver that placenta consumption is the norm in Tinseltown. "I'm in L.A., it's very normal. They grill it here! You can try some of mine after," Teigen laughed.

Teigen, who is married to singer John Legend, also explains that she wrote her bestselling cookbook Cravings (and the forthcoming sequel) because she just wants to enjoy her family and life.

"I really prefer being happy and getting to eat things that I love, still wanting to be healthy," Teigen said. "But I just don't care about looking good in a swimsuit anymore. I guess that's the only way to put it."

Sunday’s Best will be broadcast Friday, Sept. 14 at 8:00 p.m. on CBS.
